At Topstep, trading during news events is not prohibited. In addition, the use of Copy Trading is allowed.

This applies to both the evaluation stage and funded accounts.
In this regard, there are no time or instrument limitations.
This gives you the flexibility to benefit from the volatility that economic announcements produce and to duplicate strategies, as long as you act responsibly.

Topstep has an explicit policy regarding automation: the use of bots, algorithms, expert advisors EAs, or any type of automated trading is prohibited on TopstepX. The company focuses on cultivating human skills, such as discipline, analysis, and decision-making under real pressure situations.

A rule comes into effect when a trader reaches the funded or Express account stage: each time you request a withdrawal of profits, the capital remaining in your account automatically becomes your new maximum loss limit. This means that your risk margin is adjusted to align with the current account balance after deducting profits.

Likewise, after each withdrawal, the maximum loss limit allowed returns to $0; therefore, it is not possible to risk more than what is in the account at that time.

For Express Funded accounts, Topstep requires the trader to make at least one trade every 30 days. Failure to do so may result in the account being closed. This rule is intended to preserve consistent activity and prevent traders from keeping their accounts inactive for long periods of time.

As with any reputable company, there are rules governing trader behavior. Topstep prohibits practices that could be considered manipulative, risky, or fraudulent. The company provides a comprehensive document containing a complete list of prohibited behaviors on its official website.

Topstep has designed its withdrawal policy to reward traders for their discipline and consistency, providing a fair and gradual scheme. The purpose is for traders to enjoy their profits while sustaining the growth of their accounts.

Traders initially receive 100% of their profits until they reach $10,000 in withdrawals.

Once that amount is reached, a 90/10 distribution system is used: the trader receives 90% of the profits and Topstep retains the remaining 10% of each payment request.

When the trader reaches a total of 30 winning days, they regain the right to receive all profits again without restrictions. This rule rewards those who achieve stable and steady growth over time.

In the case of Express Funded accounts, traders can request withdrawals if they meet the following conditions:

• Up to 50% of the account balance or $5,000 can be withdrawn.
• It is essential to have achieved 5 days of profit for each payment request.
• A day is considered profitable when the net PNL is at least $150 or more.

Although the policy for Live Funded accounts is similar to that of Express accounts, there are some subtle differences:

• For each request, traders can withdraw up to 50% of the available balance in their account.
• A minimum of 5 profitable days, totaling $150 or more in Net PNL, is required to be eligible for a withdrawal, as is also the case with Express accounts.
